Before You Arrive

Everything you need to know β€” from the road in to the reef below.

Check-in is from 13:00 and check-out by 13:00. Reception is open 08:00–20:00 daily. If you're arriving late, contact us on WhatsApp at +52 958 144 9032 so we can make arrangements for you.
Yes β€” RVs up to 35 feet handle it fine. Take Hwy 200, turn south 1.7km past HUX airport, then follow the 13km dirt road to the bay. Do not take the shorter alternative route β€” it is in poor condition. Cell signal drops on the dirt road, so load your GPS map before leaving Huatulco.
Cell service in the bay is minimal to nonexistent. Don Taco provides Starlink high-speed satellite WiFi β€” one of the only beachfront camps in the region with reliable internet. Perfect for remote work or staying connected while surrounded by paradise.
We accept cash (MXN pesos), credit cards, debit cards, and NFC mobile payments. The nearest ATMs are in La Crucecita β€” we recommend bringing cash as a backup. Camping fee is collected at check-in.
Absolutely. The coral reef on the western side of the bay is accessible directly from the shore β€” no boat needed. The water is calm and clear, safe for beginners and children. Snorkel gear is available to rent at Don Taco. For guided reef tours to Riscalillo and BahΓa India, ask at reception.
Humpback whales visit the bay from November through April, with peak sightings in December–March. Spinner and bottlenose dolphins are year-round residents of the bay β€” you're likely to see them any morning from the beach. Morning boat tours depart directly from the camp.
Pack cash in MXN pesos, reef-safe sunscreen, a reusable water bottle, and a camera. Snorkel gear is available to rent. The bay has no convenience stores, so stock up in La Crucecita or Santa Cruz Huatulco before heading in. A light rain jacket is useful May–October for brief afternoon showers.
All tours depart directly from the bay β€” no extra transport needed. Available tours include whale & dolphin watching, snorkeling, sport fishing (marlin, tuna, dorado), multi-bay panga tours to BahΓa India, Riscalillo and Cacalutilla, and kayaking. Book via WhatsApp: +52 958 144 9032 or arrange on arrival. Ask about multi-night package deals.
