We had a great experience with Fanz and Anna as we stayed for a few nights on the beautiful beach coast of Bahía. It is a beautiful cove and with its protected coastline offers great swimming even for young children, which we haven't experienced anywhere else we have stayed along the Oaxaca or Chiapas Pacific coastline. Just be cautious of the occasional rip tides. Dog-friendliness: The place has its own mascotas, a dog named Taco, quite fittingly. He's friendly and has gotten used to welcoming other dogs into his territory. Our dog was warmly welcomed at Don Taco and well treated while we were there. Just a word of caution for those with pedigree/ pure breeds, or lookalikes; our dog is not pedigree, but may have been mistaken for one. She went missing during our short visit. The following day, after asking around the tightly knit community of San Agustín, it was clear that she had been taken. We were lucky to have found a young man who showed sympathy, who guided us through the alleyways and private gardens of this small village, into a hidden room toward the southern tip of the beach. There were two upset looking men, who were noticeably angry at the young man for taking us there. After a short exchange, they reluctantly went into a curtained dark room where we could see our dog tied up. She seemed to have been fed and reasonably cared for, only it was clear they had no intention of returning her and without the help of that young man, we would never have found her. Franz and Anna, whom I trust, said they have never experienced that before, and I wouldn't let it be a reason not to visit such a paradise. I just wish to inform those of whom it may happen to, to just take extra care and remain vigilant while walking the dog along the beach.
